Please join us for a policy briefing that will address the challenge of undiagnosed Hepatitis C in minority populations in the United States, and the imperative for a healthcare system response.
The briefing is scheduled for January 14, 2014, 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM, Rayburn HOB, Room 2168, 45 Independence Ave SW, Washington, DC. Box lunches will be available.

Confirmed speakers include:

• Assistant Secretary for Health Howard K. Koh, MD; Cong. Hank Johnson;

• Cong. Mike Honda;

• Clinical expert Charles Howell, MD;

• HCV patient advocate Ms. Hadiyah Charles

Dr. Koh will define the HHS leadership role in addressing the Nation’s Viral Hepatitis epidemic. Cong. Johnson will speak to the importance of testing for minority communities, and Dr. Howell will describe new therapeutic options for Hepatitis C.

The Forum will introduce a web-based resource Hepatitis C Index to help healthcare practitioners, policy makers, and advocacy groups identify and quantify Hepatitis C geographically, and by age, gender, race and ethnicity.
