National Minority Quality Forum Announces
2023 “40 Under 40 Leaders in Minority Health” Award Recipients
WASHINGTON, D.C. (March 15, 2023) —Today, National Minority Quality Forum (NMQF) announced its 40 Under 40 Leaders in Minority Health for 2023 that will receive recognition and awards during National Minority Health Month in April.
Since 2016, NMQF has selected 40 health leaders from minoritized populations under the age of 40 who have been leading the charge to better patient outcomes and build sustainable healthy communities. These leaders are clinicians, patient advocates, researchers and policy makers. These 40 leaders have persevered in strengthening their communities and reducing health disparities amid ongoing challenges within the healthcare system.
“It is an honor to welcome the eighth class of 40 Under 40 honorees. These leaders exemplify our vision of ‘Reimagining Our Healthcare to Protect the Most Vulnerable’ and are making incredible strides in health equity.” said Dr. Gary Puckrein, President and Chief Executive Officer at the National Minority Quality Forum. “We recognize the dedication and passion displayed by these young leaders because we know that they will work to improve the health outcomes of everyone served by our healthcare system.”
The honorees join a growing field of peers who have been previously recognized and will be able to connect with them to collaborate on ideas, partner on work and develop mentoring relationships as they desire.
“I am proud to recognize this year’s class of health leaders as the change-makers that they are,” said Congressional Black Caucus Health Braintrust Chair Rep. Robin Kelly. “Their leadership in the healthcare industry and steadfast commitment to equity will benefit patients and providers alike. I am confident that these leaders will serve as an inspiration to aspiring healthcare professionals hoping to make a difference.”
The 40 Under 40 Winners will receive their awards during the 2023 NMQF Summit on Health Disparities and Spring Health Braintrust April 17 – 18, 2023. For information and registration, please visit https://www.nmqf.org/nmqf-events/2023annualsummit.
