A MESSAGE FROM BISHOP CARTER

2025. What a year it has been. Health policy changes. Health misinformation and the
resulting mistrust among people of color. Growing threats to care access and basic
social determinants of health. Repudiation of health equity as a goal for our
country.

But 2025 also has been a year of continued work by the members of the Faith Health
Alliance, educating their members and communities about health issues and
providing linkages to care. We have seen new members join the Faith Health
Alliance. This year we hosted our first advocacy training program; it was a powerful
meeting that will help us make our voices heard by policymakers. We have enjoyed
growth in our partners the Faith Health Alliance Advocacy Council, for which we are
grateful.

The Black church and the Faith Health Alliance will
never stop working to lift-up not only the spirit but the
health of our families and communities. Join us for the
work that will continue in 2026 and beyond.
