Vice President Joe Biden will be honored at the National Minority Quality Forum’s 16th Annual Summit on Health Disparities with the Lifetime Achievement Award. The awards gala will be held Tuesday, April 9th 2019 at 7:00 PM in Washington, DC to acknowledge those who have taken a lead role in changing the landscape as it pertains to ending health care disparities across the country. The Annual National Summit on Health Disparities is designed to educate and assist attendees in delivering quality care to diverse populations across the nation.
Vice President Biden has been a great advocate for our country’s most vulnerable. His dedication to research and improvements in the health care field through the Biden Cancer Initiative is unmatched.
During the conference, attendees, including health care providers, professionals, administrators, researchers, policy makers, community and faith-based organizations, will participate in panel discussions and learn from experts in health and health care disparities.
“We could think of no other person to award this prestigious honor. His leadership and dedication to end health disparities from leading on the passage and support of the Affordable Care Act, to the Cancer Moonshot, to the Biden Cancer Initiative is truly unprecedented. And, are just a few of the reasons the National Minority Quality Forum is privileged to honor him with the Lifetime Achievement Award.” Gary A Puckrein, PhD, Founder, President & CEO, National Minority Quality Forum.
Vice President Biden: “We cannot accept disparities in cancer outcomes by race, by gender, or by zip code. The National Minority Quality Forum is leading the way in helping eliminate these disparities. The “Cancer Index” that they released last fall at the Biden Cancer summit is just one example of the resources being brought to bear to help underserved communities that need it. I’m honored to receive this award from them.”
