NMQF Stands Against Medicaid & SNAP Cuts

Proposed cuts to Medicaid and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) threaten the health and stability of millions, particularly those in underserved communities. As a leading advocate for health equity, NMQF has joined nearly 150 organizations in urging Congress to reject these harmful reductions.

These cuts would have devastating consequences, particularly for individuals living with chronic diseases, including Alzheimer’s and related conditions. Without Medicaid’s support for home and community-based services, many vulnerable individuals will be forced into high-cost institutional care, increasing the burden on families and the healthcare system. Additionally, reductions to SNAP would worsen food insecurity, a critical risk factor for those with chronic illnesses.

At NMQF, we remain committed to protecting these essential programs and ensuring that all individuals—regardless of income, age, or health status—have access to the care and resources they need.
